chnageI believe that change is other name of life. Sometimes these changes are good and sometimes they are not. It is up to us how we accept the change. Everything happens for good and sometimes the good part is hidden and we only curse the bad part that had happened to us. We realize the positive aspect later when we are on the track of reviving old memories.
My life today is also a result of some changes small and big that happened to me from time to time. A single change that actually lead to all the other better changes took place when I was in my first year of B-Tech. I had a good college though not an IIT or NIT but yet a good private college. My father wanted me to either go to VIT Vellore or ITM Gurgaon. I was ready to pack my bag and leave home for a new journey to south that would create my career life and my education history. My mother was not in favor of sending me to south and wanted me to grab the other opportunity. My tickets for flight to Chennai were already booked and I had made my mind with that. Something then stopped me from going and that was the turning point I consider for my education life.
Cancelled my ticket and decided to stay and apply for the other institutions. I was getting a seat in YMCA (all due to my good AIEEE rank) but in electrical domain which was not of my interest. While the other private college was giving me my favorite ECE and Computer seat. I was in a fix as the interest was overshadowed by the huge amount of fees they were charging.
I told my father to confirm my seat in YMCA and let it be electrical but my father was not ready to send me to a college were the infrastructure was so bad and students hardly used to attend classes.
He told me not to worry for money and fees and just look out for the best education. I was moved and I knew that this is going to make me worry for the next coming years as I now have the burden to actually bring value to those semester fees that my father paid with his hard earned money. He never objected for anything and always supported me in every cause. I used to tell him not to put any money in my account as I don’t need any extra expenditure while I was in the hostel. But he used to always keep some and then it always used to be an extra portion of motivation or responsibility that heaped up on my shoulders.
My friends who were all from rich business families used to party and do outings and that was were I used to lack and then exams were the only place where I used to outrun them with marks way ahead.
Sooner or later I realized that these marks are not going to help me realize my dreams and only a good network can help. I was very much focused on only one things that was earning money. Every middle class child knows the value of money and for him the only possible way to get out of the problem of money was to dig deep into studies and get a good job.
I had an opportunity in the 2nd year of my college where I was approached by my friend who told me about network marketing or chain marketing. The figures that he showed were really impressive and it actually made me dream that I can earn money while studying and that way I can pay the semester fees. This dream built up and after one year of wasting time and money I was standing in the same room and nothing had changed except for the money which rather than increasing had already decreased a lot in my pocket.
This incident was the next big turning point in my life and after clearing college with highest grades I took a job and then I started a website which was not an immediate action but my long term plans that I had made in college. My experience of B-Tech had already made me a business man and a person who can now sell anything. I started up and now I think that changes that made me also made my career and life.
We just need to learn “what those changes had made us” and “what can we do now after those changes” because sometimes what we see is not what we are and we can discover ourselves only when we face the change and explore our limits.
We need to take up every challenge and responsibility more maturely then only every change that we make is worth making.
